It was a tight game and something of a stalemate, when Dalkurd took on Jönköpings Södra in the latest round. The guests, however, took the lead and could meritoriously hold that lead, which they enlarged in the second half. It was a bitter loss and we are seeking for a revenge this week, when we visit the west coast to play against Halmstad BK this Saturday.
The defender Christopher McVey was sent off against Västerås SK two rounds ago, as you know. He was suspended in the last game against J-Södra, but now it is clear that his suspension has been extended for one more game. Thus, he will not play against Halmstad. The same thing goes for Irfan Jasarevic, who was booked against J-Södra and thereby has three bookings in total this season. Otherwise, alla players are at the disposal of the coaching staff and what is more fun is that two youth players are included in the squad who will travel to Halmstad. These two players are defender Salomon Muhizi and Arash Motaraghebjafarpour, who are both 16 years old.
Saturday’s opponent Halmstad has had a tough season this far and instead of fighting for the top positions, they are seeking to avoid the lower positions. In the current situation, the team is placed eleventh in the Superettan table, six points behind us. In their last game, they lost against Örgryte IS, 1-3. Their midfielder and the former Dalkurd player Dusan Djuric was subbed off with an injury and it is unsure if that injury will keep the player out from Saturday’s game.
Dalkurd and Halmstad has played against each other three times before and in the last meeting, in the spring, we won 1-0 after a very late goal by Kerfala Cissoko. Dalkurd has two 1-0 wins and one draw (0-0) in the three meetings with Halmstad. Hopefully it is a positive streak that will be extended.
